Project Manager (Volunteer)

Organisation overview:

Access Music Media was set up as a reaction to the lack of creative alternative support mechanisms for young disadvantaged people based in the LB of Croydon who were struggling to re-engage with relevant providers.
AMM is dedicated to helping young people who face substantial barriers to getting into / back into education, employment or training.

 

Our not for profit works in partnership with existing groups across private, public or the third sectors to ensure young people have access to a robust, holistic creative music based learning and development approach. This is a wonderful opportunity to play a key role as a volunteer in providing a valuable service to the local community.

Role description:

• Organising activities, programmes & projects for young          people from all backgrounds

• Assisting with funding applications and other fundraising      activities to secure funding for the organisation

• Ensure stakeholder’s requirements are met and outputs or 

  outcomes are achieved and evidenced

• Networking with other organisations for further                   

  opportunities & collaboration

• Managing databases and filing systems.

Hours:  20 Weeks, Flexible with remote working

​

Key information:

• You will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS Check

• The role will be primarily based at home with regular meetings

• You will also be required to attend onsite/in-house/online

   training, meetings or venues where we are hosting

   activities, programmes & projects, in line with

   government guidelines

Food Bank Volunteer

Organisation overview:

The Food Shop (Afro-Caribbean Foodbank) was launched by Access Music Media (AMM) in December 2020 to tackle the growing food poverty and root causes of poverty within the

Afro-Caribbean Community.

 

The Food Shop provides emergency food parcels to individuals and families in times of crisis while seeking to connect them to the right support that will help them overcome their challenges that have caused their crisis.

 

This is a wonderful opportunity to play a key role as a volunteer in providing a valuable service to the local

Afro-Caribbean community.

​

Role description:

• Manage the provision of emergency food and services to

  people who use the foodbank, ensuring a consistent high   

  quality of service
• Assist in managing, organizing the products arriving at

  our location
• Assist with the packing and handing out of food parcels to   

  clients that attend the food bank
• Help with the development of our foodbank activities and 

  procedures in response to COVID-19 to ensure best practice   

  with relation to the safety of those who access support from

  the Foodbank and the ability of the Foodbank to continue to

  provide emergency food to those in need
• Ad hoc support duties as and when required

​

Hours: 10am - 1pm (Thursday with remote working

Key information:

Before you can start your role as a volunteer, you will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS Check. The role will be primarily based at the Food Bank in South Norwood.


• Ability to commit to 4 hours on Thursday and Friday, 9am – 1pm
• You will be required to attend events or meeting 
off/online         

  when necessary
• Lunch (5 hours or more) & travel 
expenses reimbursed
• You will be required to wear our branded t-shirt and 
Fleece

  Jacket provided
• You will be required to wear black bottoms and
 black footwear
• Friendly, self-motivated with good attention to detail
• Able to work independently and take initiative
 when required
• If you use your own car, you must have a valid
 driving license

  and insurance
• Reliable and punctual, good communication skills
